The Full Circle

Flame is all about inspiration. We identify children in urban poor communities who want to be in school but due to a variety of reasons in their family situation are either not in school, or not thriving in school.

We assist in the process for them to start, or re-start, school. Through our After School programs they begin the Full Circle journey to reach beyond their potential and lift the roof off current limits. We call the process of the child becoming a young leader - “The Full Circle” – The kids in Flame’s programs emerge as confident leaders in their communities, inspiring others in education, service and leadership. The ultimate.

Identify

Children and their parents come to Flames existing After School Programs asking to join the program. Our case worker team conduct a family assessment to ascertain if the child fits Flame’s criteria and if they do, and we have the resources and space, they can join others studying in the center.

Growth happens organically when the environment is conducive to growth. The growth phase can be short or long, but always follows this path

Belonging – Value the Opportunity – Work Hard & Don’t Give Up

The children tell us that they feel that they belong when they are at a Flame After School center, it feels like a home should feel like to them …  support, no judgment and help to get up and try again after failure. After a few years in this environment, absorbing Flame’s culture, they become young adults who are now ready to launch.

Launch

After their studies, at university or vocational training, the young adults are equipped through the LAMP program to become some of Cambodia's future leaders in the areas of passion and skill they have developed. Flame has launched graduates in the fields of medicine, education, social work, business, law and marketing … with new fields being added all the time.

“It’s not just what we do – it’s who does it”

in Flame, we have a saying, “It’s not just what we do – it’s who does it” Individuals who complete their Full Circle journey in Flame have a variety of passions, skills and career paths. Flame is about supporting each individual graduate in the field they choose to be in. For them to launch into those fields as confident leaders, Flame needs to give time and space for them to grow in capability and self-confidence. Eg. We are not a health organisation – but we are about launching doctors and nurses into their careers to make a positive difference in the area of health. We are not a business – but we are about launching graduates to be successful business people who are grateful for the opportunities they were given and who become generous givers back into their families and communities. We are not a school – but we are about launching teachers who are passionate about education and teach from a heart for children. Our job is done well when Flame’s graduates are doing great things in whatever their area of expertise and passion is.
