Family Support

WHY?

Many families are genuinely reliant on their children to work for the funds to support their daily life. We connect with children of the urban poor who are unable to attend school, and inspire them to start school or to re-engage in education. The goal is that each child reaches beyond their potential, lifting the roof off their current dreams.

WHO?

The caseworkers conduct the initial assessments to ensure that the children entering Flame’s programs fit our criteria and will benefit from our programs. They also mentor Flame’s sponsored children supporting them to succeed in education and leadership.

WHAT?

The work of the case work team is to engage these children and youth in education, then support, motivate and encourage them to continue on and graduate. We also work holistically with their family to help support them to overcome obstacles that may get in the way of their child continuing and succeeding in their education. This involves ongoing and holistic care for the child as well as close interface and support for the family.
